NPR and SCIBA - Two of My Favorite Acronyms

I realize that content has slowed to a trickle at Salonica of late, but many things are in the works. Look for an upcoming review at Three Percent of Pierre Michon's novel, Small Lives. And speaking of Three Percent, check out the great NPR piece about world literature in which NEA(another fave acronym)mastermind David Kipen mentions the aforementioned Three Percent but Salonica gets a mention in of the comments about other places to find out about international literature. The lovely mention comes from Will at A Journey Around My Skull. There is also a review in the works with talented translator Howard Curtis for Salonica and an interview with Greek author, Amanda Michalopoulou, coming out in Context from the Dalkey Archive. And speaking of Amanda Michalopoulou, at the SCIBA Authors Feast and Trade Show I sat with the impressive Stewart O'Nan and we discussed several books of short story collections (while I also marveled at the economy of food distribution of banquet dinners). I greedily took the opportunity to sing the praises of Ms. Michalopoulou's short story collection, I'd Like which Mr. O'Nan wisely wrote down. He is cool and she is cool so hopefully I have inspired a global cool writer connection. Okay, stay tuned, and TTFL...
