If you're interested is some great new releases of a German author, try the works of Hans Fallada from Melville House Publishing. I had a chance to review a rediscovered German classic, Every Man Dies Alone. The review is up currently at Three Percent. I can't wait to read The Drinker, which was written while Fallada was in a Nazi insane asylum. This man's life was so fascinating and riddled with addiction and oppression, it'd diffuicult not to be in awe of his work. I will cover more of his work in the future to be sure.
