Eastern European Interlude

Theme:  Eastern Europe

Noteworthy

Just wanted to highlight a couple of things that apply to the current theme of Eastern Europe.  First off, there is a great post at Three Percent bringing attention to The Guardian's coverage of the life and works of Czech writer, Ivan Klima.  Three Percent is also the home to my review of Metropole, one of the Hungarian writers I've included in this theme.  My spotlight writer, Stefan Zweig, whom I will go in depth about later, is an Austrian writer that I have briefly touched upon with this review of Amok and Other Stories.  And lastly, check out this great interview of Brian Evenson with Attila Bartis, Hungarian author, who wrote Tranquility which won the Best Translated Book of 2009.  My review to come.  Well, friends, until next time...
