What's Going in Poland:  Over at Bacacay, the Polish Literature Blog, they have  a succinct recap of Poland's top literary prize, the NIKE award.  Read about what's hot in the Polish book world and then try to pronounce the authors and the titles.

And Speaking of Prizes...
Walter Kappacher, born in Salzburg, Austria, will receive the the prestigious German literary award, the Georg Buechner Award.  I haven't read any of his work, but I hope to in the future.  He can't be all bad since his role models are a couple of melancholy fellas I like, Knut Hamsun and Heinrich Boll.
