Davis Defends Herself in Paris:   Lydia Davis begins her defense on why there is a new translation of Flaubert's Madame Bovary.  The article in the Paris Review is well executed and is the first in several posts she will be doing over the next couple of weeks dealing with translation.  I, for one, am very excited about her translation and can't wait to read.  What do you think?  Time for a new translation?
