Ambler's Dimitrios: Check out this link for a great article from the Wall Street Journal detailing why A Coffin for Dimitrios is a masterpiece. And this article in California Literary Review is wonderfully informative. It covers Ambler's work and his impact on the British Espionage novel from 1936-1940. AND if that is not enough good Ambler ambling, this trailer for the film noir gem A Mask for Dimitrios (novel's original title) starring Peter Lorre is classic:

Yes! I am an Ambler fan and I hope we don't forget his work. Meanwhile, I do think Alan Furst has hints of Ambler and I really enjoy his work thus far.
