Quick Hits for Oct. 26: New German Lit and the German Book

Quick Hits for Oct.26

Clichen, Mein Herrs!

Who is New in German Letters:
Thanks to the folks over at Publishing Perspectives for this heads up on enlightening article in Die Zeit.  It talks about the writers who are making impact in Germany's current literary landscape.  Can't wait till more of these works are translated.

And the Award Goes To...: Reinhard Jirgl has won Georg Buechner Prize for his lifetime work.  From what I've read, he seems like his work is worthy of the prize and more attention.  He does not have anything translated into English, but I am sure that all the great writing come out of Germany I am sure that many a translator are working to change that.
